Warm weather is finally making an appearance, and I’m more than ready. After months of talking spring and summer trends, I’m leaning in and building out my seasonal wardrobe with a few standout pieces. And while I’m at it, I’m making sure to pay attention to some key colors that will define the season. One of the colors that I’m making sure to sprinkle into my closet is white. It is one of the top fashion trends for Spring 2025.
How To Wear The White Color Trend
White is one of those colors that I have always shied away from. I have the tendency to get it dirty no matter what I do. So for the good of fashion, I’m going to give it another go and rock my summer whites!
White Tops For Spring And Summer
I’m always talking about how a crisp white shirt pairs perfectly with so many of my favorite fashion finds. And now that we’re in peak white-shirt season (though honestly, it works year-round), I’ve rounded up a few great options to carry you through spring and summer in effortless style.

First is this Gap cropped eyelet button-front shirt. Full disclosure, I recently bought this one for my myself and I love it. It’s a nice quality fabric and the eyelet details are feminine but not overwhelming. Also, I’m not super into cropped tops being the age that I am, but this one is great for women over 50. It’s just the right amount of cropped that you can wear high waisted jeans, and it sits just at the waistband of the jeans. This placement creates a flattering, well-balanced silhouette.
Next, I found this long sleeved side-tie top at Express. This one is unique, and I like all the special details. Of course, the side ties, which are the feature of the shirt, but also the slight ballooned sleeves and the simple crew neck allow for you to show off some great jewelry pieces. A collection of necklaces or bracelets would really bring an outfit to life paired with this shirt.
Finally, you know I’m a sucker for a clean white t-shirt, so make sure you grab a couple of these from Target. If I were you, I’d get two or three since you can never have too many white t-shirts. Also stock up on a few other colors if you budget allows.
The Whiter Color Trend: Pants And Skirts
For bottoms, you can go a couple different ways. I always like the idea of a classic, wide leg linen or linen-blend pair of pants. I found this higher-end pair from JCrew. The wide legs and slit front pockets present instant polish and these would be a terrific addition to your closet.
If you prefer jeans, you can try the Skyscraper jeans from Express in the white wash. I’ve always been a fan of jeans from this brand, the quality and sizing has always been consistent. I like the Skyscraper style because they have the coveted high waist rise, but they are also long and lean with the fun split hem detail. When paired with the right shoes, they make you look like you have legs for days.
If skirts are more your thing, take a look at this midi length A-line skirt. It gets an A+ for comfort with the simple pull-on style. The rounded hem will give you lots of movement and a final nice feature is that it’s fully lined.
White Dresses For Spring/Summer 2025
Finally, I wanted to do a little section on dresses, as I know many of you can’t wait to rock your dresses once the warm weather settles in. I very much like this embroidered cotton dress from Banana Republic. It’s got beautiful details including a wide waist tie – which I love because it doesn’t feel like an afterthought. And if you like this dress but not the white, it comes in two other color options.
I’ve loving the 90s feel of this fit and flare dress. It’s got mixed media fabrics for the top and bottom, hidden pockets and it’s fully lined. There are so many ways you can style this dress, so I also like the versatility of it. This can definitely be dressed down. I would wear it with sneakers and a relaxed hoodie with some oversized silver hoop earrings. Or you can dress it up with some platform sandals and layered necklaces.
I think my favorite out of the bunch is this long-sleeved mini shirt dress. I’ve been more into mini dresses this year, and this is one that I would love to have in my closet. A simple button-down silhouette is always a staple that will look good on everyone. The flare skirt offers a fun detail and will show off some nice leg!
Expert Style Tips
- Pay attention to your wash instructions. Wearing white is always risky and spills or stains are imminent. Make sure you note the care instructions on your clothing. If dry clean only isn’t your vibe, steer clear. You don’t want to dirty clothing item waiting for a trip to the cleaners that probably won’t happen.
- Try a monochromatic look. I love a monochromatic look in any color and white is no different. I know you can risk looking like you’re going to a white party, but who doesn’t love a white party? Pair your whites together in the spring and summer months for a cool and polished look.
- You have endless accessory options. Metallics or colors will work well when paired with white. If you have some costume jewelry you don’t get to wear often, one of the white shirt options from above could be the perfect opportunity! I love to pair my white with metallics, and either gold or silver would work. Or go ahead and mix your metals—it’s another trend I absolutely adore.
