Bianca Jagger Inspired One-Shoulder Akris Dress
Swiss label Akris held its Spring 2012 RTW Collection trunk show at Saks Fifth Avenue on Michigan Avenue last week. Whimsical, creative and Mod are just a few words to describe the collection. The luxe fabrics, master tailoring and couture construction are all part of the current collection designed by Albert Kriemler. Bianca Jagger’s style of the 1970s is brought back in theAkris Resort 2012line sporting “pop Warhol colors including Lipstick Red, Ocean Blue, Salmon and Bianca White.” From Akris, “Nothing captures chic, tailored and refined style better than Bianca Jagger. An independent woman from the moment she wore a single-button blazer to her 1973 wedding to Mick Jagger.” …Bianca is a timeless inspiration for us all.
Monaco's Prince Albert and Princess Charlene (Dressed in Akris) at the Royal WeddingThe spring collection was also inspired by everything Monaco – John Frankenheimer’s 1966 film Grand Prix, Princess Charleneand Hotel l’Hermitage. The Princess, a huge fan of the line, wore an Akris double-face coat and dress in Dove Gray to the Royal Wedding. This ensemble was produced for Spring 2012 in Lipstick Red.
Akris Resort 2012 Party Print DressAkris Race Cars DressThe Grand Prix races influenced the design of the racer jackets, all vogue and with a slight edge. Photoprints, an Akris house signature, are printed on silk crepe representing images from dance parties and Grand Prix races. Although some of the pieces are eclectic and see-through, the majority of the collection is simply elegant.
