How To Style A Teddy Bear Coat High vs Low

The bitter chill is in the air in many parts of the country. It’s time to get that super cozy and on-trend teddy bear coat you’ve been coveting. Yes, you can get the original from Max Mara and your investment will be well-served since this coat has become a classic. It looks like fur but it’s wool! Or you can find many furry copycat versions of the teddy bear coat. Here is one way to style a teddy bear coat at two very different price points. Spend a lot of money on high-end designer pieces or get the entire look for less. Another option (this is my favorite) is to save on a few of the pieces and go high low with your styling. I always say invest in the classics.

Start with the coat! This Max Mara Ginnata Teddy Bear Icon Faux Fur Coat, $3,590 is beautiful. I love this neutral warm grey color they call Turtledove. Super warm and plush, this coat has interesting twisted seam detailing on the sleeves and is made of an lpaca, wool and silk blend. However, if you may not wear it very much or don’t have a spare $3,590, you can get this Sosken Gita Teddy Coat for only $395 in a similar color. This coat is a very nice knock-off with its high pile fabric (you’ll see some cheapy ones out there) and it is available in sizes 0 – 16W.
